Radio City Music Hall

Radio City Music Hall
Radio City Music Hall opened in 1932 around Christmastime. It was the world's largest indoor theater. Many technical experts also regarded it as the best equipped. One commentator even went as far to say that the Music Hall was so beautiful inside that they didn't even need performers. Well, that was almost true. The first acts on stage, because they were so bad, that it resulted in the theater being mainly used for movies screenings in its early years. During that period, there were actually some pretty important premieres that went on here like the original King Kong movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and To Kill A Mockingbird starring Gregory Peck. It must have been quite the experience for Gregory Peck to see his own premiere here, because many years earlier, he had actually been working in the Music Hall as an usher.
